Michelle founded VFH in 1997 under the original name Spanish
Translations, Etc. She has a B.A. in Spanish, a B.S. in Nursing and a M.A. in Sociology from Michigan State University. Her professional experience includes supervising a migrant clinic, coordinating maternal
and infant support services, coordinating migrant outreach programs, medical interpreting and translation, developing and teaching Spanish courses, and lecturing about cultural and interpreting issues. Michelle
enjoys Latin dancing, African drumming, and photography.
 Carlos Pava, BA

Carlos joined the VFH team in 1999 and became a business partner in
2000. He graduated from Michigan State University where he studied Psychology and Business Administration. Carlos' professional experience includes entrepreneurship in Colombia, coordinating refugee
resettlement, coordinating interpretating and translation services, and medical and court interpreting. In 2003, he was a recipient of the SBC Hispanic Excellence Awards. A proud father, Carlos is a culinary artist
and is always ready for a game of chess.
